Abstract [en]

Measuring and evaluating vehicle and tire performance in winter conditions are highly motivated by accident statistics. The present paper investigates use of the sine with dwell maneuver in this context. Various aspects of winter testing is discussed and illustrated with test track measurements, such as test repeatability and trade-off between stability and maneuverability. An evaluation procedure is presented and demonstrated with the classical issue of which axle to choose for the worst set of tires.
